Forgotten Circuits is our first collection for Martinic AX73 synthesizer. It contains 85 presets in no less than 14 categories. Inspired by tracks in various genres like EDM, IDM, pop, synthwave and techno we created a new and fresh set of sounds for the excellent AX73.
This synthesizer is based on the somewhat forgotten circuits of the AKAI AX73 which was introduced in the mid-80s. At that time analog VCO-based synths got less and less interest from the masses because other synthesizers were hitting the market. DCO-based subtractive, FM, LA-synthesis and even PCM based synthesizers were introduced and getting more popular.
AKAI created an excellent sounding synthesizer with a kind of cumbersome interface. Notice the num-pad and one data fader instead of knob-per-function for example. AKAI were not the only ones to create these kind of interfaces, other brands did this too. Martinic revived this classic and enhanced it quite a bit to say the least!
The polyphony got increased from 6 to 24 voices and the one LFO got boosted to four LFO’s. Together with four envelopes, layering, stacking, splits, the sub oscillator of the AX80, 4 chorus types (AX60 and 73) and a powerful effect section, you can imagine that this synthesizer has much to offer.
That’s why we decided to create this collection for you. These sounds range from electronic drums and effects to freaky stab sounds and evolving pads and mesmerizing ambient textures. Together with fat basses and retro poly synth sounds we are convinced that this collection will inject your compositions with a lot of creativity.
Most sounds listen to velocity and are equipped with mod wheel behavior and make heavy use of the enhancements of AX73.
Let’s get creative!
We teamed up with Martinic to give you a 10% discount on either another collection for the AX73 or on the AX73 itself. You find this code in the manual of the Forgotten Circuits collection.
